ITIL and NETS coordination

My job has two main parts- the purely technical IT stuff, and the pedagogical Ed Tech stuff. Each has its own set of guiding principals. IT is governed by ITIL best practices; Ed Tech is governed by the ISTE NETS standards. 

They don't really have much to do with each other. But I wonder if they should. It certainly would make things easier if I could use the principles of ITIL best practices to achieve the NETS. 

Someday I should analyze these and see if there is a way to coordinate the two.
