I was talking with Chris Brown about a good idea I had about how to configure PowerSchool during registration. It reminded both of us that I had a good idea once before. Unfortunately, neither of us could remember what it was, even though moment that I explained it is recorded in startling clarity in both of our minds.
Frustrated that we couldn't remember what the actual idea was, Chris suggested that I make a "cool ideas list" to record them. In addition to keeping us from forgetting what they were, it could be a fun way to look back later and see which came to fruition.
Another possible benefit is to establish the date that I had an idea, so if anybody wants to steal it later, I can claim intellectual property rights. I don't mean to be sneaky; I normally like sharing ideas, but I've seen enough examples of people's ideas being "stolen" that this might actually be useful.
So, this first entry is dedicated to the cool idea of having a "cool ideas" blog.
